Youth hunt set for Oct. 23 in Summerford

Pheasants Forever Darby Plains Chapter 956 is hosting a youth hunt from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 23 at the Madison County Sportsmen Club. 4700 Deer Creek Ln., Summerford.

The event is an opportunity for youths under the age of 18 to participate in a mentored, upland hunting experience. Participants will hunt with guides and trained bird dogs.

Ammo, hearing protection, safety glasses, and vests will be available if needed. A lesson in clay shooting and gun safety will take place prior to the hunt. Youths of all skill levels are welcome.

Organizers will provide lunch after the hunt. One participant will win a 12-guage shotgun.

Those who would like to participate are asked to register at Spaces are limited.
