The London Federation of Women’s Clubs is back with its popular Holiday Candy Store, albeit with some changes.
Located in the Masonic Temple at 65 N. Main St., the temporary store will operate Monday-Saturday Nov. 23-Dec. 23. Curbside pickup is available every day, but in-store shopping is available only on certain days:
• In-store hours–11 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, Friday and Saturday;
• Pick-up only hours–1-4 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; 4-7 p.m. Wednesday.
The set-up helps to reduce potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus for volunteers and customers alike, said Martina Walters, a member of the candy committee.
Also new this year is a reduced number of candy choices. In years past, customers had over 60 varieties of candy from which to choose. This year, there are 41 varieties.
“Because we can’t return anything (to our supplier) this year, we went with the most popular varieties,” Walters said. “We’re also not sure we can reorder candy this year, so if you have a favorite, be sure to call or come in early this season.”
The choices run from bridge mix and buckeyes to pecan snappers and mint yogurt pretzels. Sugar-free chocolates are among the offerings. Candy can be purchased by the pound, in gift trays, or as customized gift baskets and treat bags.
The full list of options can be found on the Federation’s Facebook page (look for “London Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs Christmas Candy Sale.”
To place orders, call (740) 506-6394. Use the same number when arriving at the store for curbside pickup.
Proceeds from the sale go toward the upkeep of the Federation’s home base, the Coover Club House on North Main Street.
The organization’s clubs are the Career Women’s Community Club, Coover Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, Delphians, Happy Hour Needle Club, London Bridge, TAC Bridge and the Twentieth Century Club.
