Many neighbors gave a helping hand to man chain saws and carry limbs to the shredder to help with the clean up.

 
Sept. 14 brought 75 miles per hour winds to Ohio as remnants from Hurricane Ike pounded the midwest. The brand new scoreboard on the West Jefferson Roughriders’ football field proved to be no match for the strong winds. The scoreboard now lies on top of a wishing well, which holds the victory bell.

In an alley behind Garret Park, a tree split and fell across the alley. It rested on electric and cable lines, as well as the roof of a garage belonging to Gary Thomas.
