The London Rotary Club is pleased to honor senior William Kerry as London High School’s November Student of the Month.

Students of the month are selected by school administrators based on their academic and extracurricular achievement and positive character.

Will has a 4.50 grade point average, is ranked fourth in his class, and states his favorite class is CCP Calculus. He is a five-year member of the marching band and four-year member of the concert band. He has played with the All-Star Brass Band for six years and the Ohio Collegiate All-Stars for two years.

Will has participated in high school athletics, playing soccer for four years, tennis for three years, swimming for two years, and track and field for one year. He has served as vice president of the National Honor Society for the past two years and has received College Board National Recognition (National Hispanic Recognition Award) and NRSTA (National Rural and Small Town Award) based on his PSAT score.

When asked to name a school staff member who has inspired him, will named chemistry teacher Beverly Goudy.

“Mrs. Goudy is passionate about science and makes sure everyone in her class truly understands what they are learning,” he said.

About Will, Goudy said, “It has been my privilege to be able to teach Will chemistry in the College Credit Plus chemistry class this year. Will is an exceptional student who learns quickly, is able to apply his learning, and then desires to learn more.

“When working in groups, I see Will taking the lead. He is a true, quality student by achieving scholastic excellence while at the same time taking part in the fine arts. He is an accomplished trumpet player and percussionist. Will is one of London’s finest.”

Will plans to attend The Ohio State University to major in aerospace engineering and join The Ohio State University Marching Band. Will is the son of Noemi and Robert Kerry of London.

The London Rotary Club has a proud history dating back to 1929. It is a member of Rotary International, a volunteer organization of 1.2 million businesses and professional leaders united worldwide to provide humanitarian service and help build good will and peace.
