Wildermuths excel at Franklin County Fair

Jodi Wildermuth, a senior at Canal Winchester High School, showed the Grand Champion Market Lamb at the 2007 Franklin County Fair held in Hilliard. Wildermuth’s lamb, a 132 pound crossbred, sold to the Pritchard Family and Columbus Roof Trusses for $1,400 at the Junior Fair Livestock Auction held on July 21.

Members of the Wildermuth family of Canal Winchester competed in several Jr. Fair livestock shows at the recent 2007 Franklin County Fair.

•Christy Wildermuth had the honor of being named the intermediate age division Outstanding Market Exhibitor in three catagories; sheep, swine, and dairy beef. Christy also showed the reserve champion light weight market lamb.

•Jodi Wildermuth showed the middle weight and heavy weight champion market lambs. Her heavy weight champion lamb was named grand champion overall. Jodi also exhibited the grand champion dairy beef feeder calf. Jodi won the senior age division Outstanding Market Exhibitor award in the catagories of sheep, and dairy beef.

•Scott Wildermuth won senior sheep showmanship and master sheep showmanship. Scott also competed in the Showman of Showmen contest, and placed first in both the sheep and swine divisions of the event.

•In the open division market lamb show the Wildermuth Family won grand champion market lamb, and grand champion pen of two market lambs. Jodi Wildermuth placed first in the open sheep showmanship class.
