Wildermuths excel at Franklin County Fair

 Christy Wildermuth, 15, a sophomore at Canal Winchester High School and vice president of the Groveport Buttoneers 4-H Club, won the Grand Champion Market Hog and Grand Champion Market Lamb at the 2008 Franklin County Fair. Her 280 pound crossbred gilt competed against nearly 200 other hogs to win and was sold at auction for $1,400 to the Troy Gabriel family. Her 129 pound crossbred market lamb sold for $700 to Franklin County Engineer Dean Ringle and Franklin County Sheriff Jim Karnes.
 
 Jodi Wildermuth, 18, president of the Groveport Buttoneers 4-H Club, captured the title of "Showman of Showmen" at the 2008 Franklin County Fair. This is the second time she has won the award, the first time being in 2006. The contest is comprised of seven senior showmanship winners representing each species of livestock shown at the fair: sheep, hogs, steers, goats, horses, rabbits, and chickens.
