Even with a tight budget, Whitehall Parks are gearing up for a busy summer.

The summer playground program will start later than normal, and the hours have been adjusted, but the program will be available.

Beginning July 7, the drop-in program at John Bishop Park’s John LaCorte Amphitheater will begin Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. until Aug. 8.  It will provide children between the ages of 6-18 the opportunity to participate in organized recreational and educational activities. Summer playground leaders will supervise activities such as sports, arts and crafts and educational programs to name a few. A free lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m. daily.

This is not a day camp. Children may come and go as they choose. Leaders will be responsible for supervising the children actively participating in the scheduled programming, and they will leave at 2 p.m.  They are not responsible for children choosing to stay at the park after that time.
