Mt. Sterling Public Library is offering a program hosted by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and presented by Deputy Kelly Sparks. The program is titled “Wham Scam Thank You Ma’am.” The presentation will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 14 in the community room at Meadowview Village Apartments, 338 W. Main St., Mt. Sterling.
This talk is open to the public and aimed at protecting senior citizens and others from fraud and Internet scams. Questions and interactions from attendees regarding their own experiences is encouraged. A short question-and-answer session will follow. The presentation will run approximately 30 minutes, not including any audience participation and questions.
If you are not a senior but have a senior in your life you wish to help protect you are encouraged to bring them or come and learn for yourself how you can better prepare your loved one for any scams or fraudulent contact aimed at them.
