Westside wrestlers take down the competition

Bishop Ready senior Andrew Halko is on the attack in his second round win over Brookeville junior, Devon Meyers. The wrestlers took part in the 82nd annual State Wrestling Individual Tournament, held March 7-9 at the Jerome Schottenstein Center. Halko qualified for his Division III 145-pound spot in the tournament by finishing second in the District Tournament held March 2. Halko was joined on the state stage by teammate, 120-pound sophomore Aiden Aiello.
Franklin Heights High School senior Dane Fenice was one of 224 high school wrestlers that made up the 2019 State Wrestling Individual Tournament held March 7-9 at the Jerome Schottenstein Center. Fenice qualified for the annual tourney by placing second in the District Tournament on March 2. The 152-pound Fenice was joined at the event by Franklin Heights teammate Day’ Myrin Jones in the 285-pound class. Fenice finished the season with a record of 38-5.
