West Jefferson headed to regional finals

West Jefferson defeated Springfield Shawnee 62-28 on Nov. 16 at London in Div. V Region 20 state tournament play. West Jefferson heads to Sidney on Nov. 23 for a rematch with West Liberty Salem for the regional finals. West Liberty Salem defeated the Roughriders 42-39 in the regular season.

West Jefferson quarterback Tyler Buescher fires a pass downfield in the first quarter against Springfield Shawnee. Buescher completed eight of 10 passes for 340 yards and five touchdowns in the first half of play.
West Jefferson receiver Tyler Oberlee celebrates after scoring a touchdown. Oberlee had three receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns and added a 44-yard interception for a touchdown.
Dylan Lambert (34) and Tommy Fuller (54) celebrate after Fuller made a tackle for a loss against Springfield Shawnee. Fuller and Shane Bumgardner led the Riders with seven tackles.
Tailback Gabe Jones uses a stiff arm against the defense on his way to another West Jefferson touchdown. Jones rushed for 118 yards on 13 carries and two touchdowns and added another touchdown on a 77-yard pass completion.
West Jefferson kicker Mason Cordetti adds another point after touchdown with good line blocking from his teammates. Cordetti hit all eight of his extra point attempts.
