West Jeff sports: Jones breaks rushing record again and Senior Night for boys’ soccer

Against Mechanicsburg on Oct. 4, West Jefferson senior Gabe Jones makes a cut through a hole provided by his offensive line. Jones broke the school’s single-game rushing record for the second time this season with 364 yards on 36 carries. He also scored three touchdowns. In six games, Jones has gained 1,318 yards on 113 carries and scored 15 touchdowns. West Jefferson beat Mechanicsburg 30-22.

The Roughriders start OHSAA tournament action Oct. 17 against KIPP. Game time is 5 p.m.
