The West Jefferson Community Association coordinates the annual Ox Roast over Labor Day weekend. This year’s event is set for Sept. 5-7 in Garrette Park. For more information about any part of the event, go to www.westjeffoxroast.org.

12 p.m. Parade – “Proud to be an American”
After parade Visiting festival queens promoting local festivals – main stage
1:30 p.m. Queens’ luncheon – West Jefferson High School
1:30-8 p.m. Kids in the Park Kid Zone – sponsored by Central Ohio Anglers & Hunters Conservation
2:30-4 p.m. Grassahol bluegrass band – main stage
5- 7 p.m. Queens contest, Little Miss, Junior Miss and Miss Ox Roast – main stage
7 p.m. Watermelon eating contest – main stage
7:30 p.m. Children’s bicycle drawing – main stage (must be present to win)
8:30-10:30 p.m. Ohio’s Got Talent – main stage

12-8 p.m. Kids in the Park Kids Zone – sponsored by Flyers Pizza

Kids Zone
Presented by Hurt-Battelle Memorial Library, the Kids’ Zone will operate from 12 to 8 p.m. all three days of the festival and include free pony rides (Lost Fortune Stables), animals, balloons, karaoke, a mobile archery range and crafts.
