We love fall and football

Football, football, football…we LOVE our football, whether it is the OSU Buckeyes or our fantastic local high school Groveport Madison Cruisers with a record of 4-1.

If you haven’t been to a local high school football game lately, you are missing out on one of the best local area events. Everyone from students, parents, teachers, administrators and more are passionate about their team. The energy is electric, addicting, and fun. Not to mention the incredible amount of support behind each high school football game any where from parent organizations with athletic boosters, band boosters, or just groups of parents wanting to make sure that those involved in the game are fed before each game. No matter what community you live in, the experience will be the same.

Bierberg Mercantile

What is the Bierberg Mercantile? We get asked that a lot! The mercantile is a community co-op of small, mostly home-based businesses that either make or distribute products for extra income.

Displaying a selection of their inventory in the mercantile provides each merchant an opportunity to further expand their business in the community that they live, support and/or wish to sell to.

The mercantile consists of 35 vendors with offerings anywhere from candles to purses to artwork and in-between. Three of the vendors are Groveport area non-profits using the space to sell items for fundraising. Great Harvest Bread Co from Pickerington delivers fresh bread twice a week. Cellution Group, an authorized Verizon Wireless Dealer, also has a kiosk inside the mercantile.

Where does ‘Bierberg’ come from?  Once upon a time in the same space at 607 Main St., there was an upscale furniture store owned by the Bierberg family. The use of the name with the mercantile is recognizable by those in our community that remember the Bierbergs and their furniture store. Find someone who has lived in Groveport for a while and ask about the Bierbergs.  Ask about the window display with toys sitting in the window for the kids to look at on their way to school, which is also one of our favorite activities to watch the kids walking to/from school as they press their noses on the window to see the flashing ball caps.

The Bierberg Mercantile is completely operated by community volunteers and is managed by Go Groveport!
