Violet Twp. bicentennial gardening winners

Violet Township amateur gardeners competed in a "Landscape and Garden Contest" sponsored by the Violet Township Bicentennial Celebration Committee. This year’s contest provided a practice round in anticipation of the main landscape/garden event in 2008 to help celebrate Violet Township’s 200th year.  The contest rules for both 2007 and 2008 note that "gardens" may consist of flowerbeds, containers, hanging baskets, pots and/or window boxes. Winners of the residential division of this year’s contest were: first place: Helen Timson – Pickerington Run; second place: Pamela and Gregory Litchfield – Eastwood Village; third place: Tina Sefcik – Cherry Hill. Winners of the community gardens division were: first place: Chevington Woods – volunteer gardener, Juliet Squier (pictured here); second place: Mingo Estates – volunteer gardener, Peggy Portier.
