The Violet Township trustees unanimously adopted a resolution to enter into an annexation agreement with the city of Pickerington during their Oct. 3 meeting.

A three acre site near the intersection of Wright and Diley roads has been the source of discussion between the township and city for many weeks. The long awaited agreement will now proceed to the Fairfield County Commissioners for approval and then return to the city of Pickerington where the city will accept the property.

Trustee Gary Weltlich stated the annexation agreement has been a lengthy process.

"The longest journey starts with the first step," said Weltlich.
