Up for adoption: Buster and Beatrice

(Posted Feb. 8, 2021)

The following are among the pets up for adoption at the Humane Society of Madison County. If you are interested in adopting a pet, fill out an application online at www.hsmcohio.org or call the shelter at (614) 879-8368.

Buster arrived at the shelter on Jan. 7, 2021, found by a citizen. Buster is a very big boy, weighing a whopping 75 pounds. He is about 1.5 years old with an estimated birthday of June 7, 2019.

Buster is a bundle of fun wrapped up in a gorgeous package. His striking brown eyes and impressive physique turn heads wherever he goes. Then comes the huge, adorably goofy, tongue-out grin, and you’re hooked. Buster enjoys toys and plays with them the same way he takes treats–gently. At the top of Buster’s list of favorite things is soaking up all the love he can get.

His reaction to other dogs has been mixed, and he’s pretty sure cats are useless, so this hunk of love will likely thrive in a home as the only fur baby. Buster’s enthusiasm is infectious, and the family lucky enough to call him their own will reap the rewards of a lifetime of smiles.

Adoption fees for dogs are as follows: shelter dogs, $150; prison dogs, $200; puppies, $250; popular pure-breeds, $400. The price includes: a Home Again microchip, shots, deworming, heartworm testing (if old enough), spay or neuter, and a one-year rabies shot (if old enough). All dogs that are adopted must leave with a county license at an additional cost of $17. All fees are cash only.

Beatrice is a sweet girl who is all about people. She loves when visitors come around and especially when they want to give her love or treats. Her estimated age is 3 years old. She came to the shelter as a stray. She doesn’t seem to be a fan of other cats, and the shelter staff has not seen her interact with any dogs. She is a very sweet girl who is hoping to find her forever home soon.

Adoption fees for cats are $60 for kittens and $35 for cats older than 11 months. The fee includes:a FeLV/FIV test, spay or neuter, set of shots, de-worming, and a one-year rabies shot (if old enough). All fees are cash only.
