On Feb. 15, Briggs High School senior Derrick Showell signed his letter of intent to attend Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio. Derrick will receive a financial award of $25,000 annually and plans on majoring in physical therapy. With a GPA of 3.0 and the talent of a strong offensive tackle, Showell says he is looking forward to a productive college career both academically and on the grid iron. |
Cullison heading to LEC

Guy Cullison, a Bishop Ready High School senior, has officially accepted a full-tuition football scholarship to Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. Cullison has been a member of the Bishop Ready Silver Knights football team for his four-years at the school. This year, he was named First Team, All Conference; First Team All Central Ohio; First Team All Ohio; and Honorable Mention Central Ohio Super 25. In his junior year, Cullison was named First Team All District and Honorable Mention All Ohio. In addition to playing football at Bishop Ready, Cullison has been a member of the school’s baseball team for four years and played basketball his freshman year. He is also an honor roll student and has volunteered with the American Red Cross during his four years at Bishop Ready. Cullison is the son of Jerry and Angela Cullison (pictured) of the Westside. |
