Winchester Trail students Brittany Christmas (left) and Dylan Lazor and their classmates are learning first-hand that the world is bigger than what they see outside the windows of their school. Fifth grade teacher Kelly Moore’s students are communicating with students from LaVirgen, Nicaragua to establish a connection to others outside their own world. Moore’s brother, a teacher in Nicaragua has teamed up with Moore’s classroom in a project to bring the two worlds closer together. For the first letter students wrote about themselves and about life in the United States.  They are hoping to learn a lot about a country few will ever visit in their lifetime. The letters are on their way to Nicaragua and Canal Winchester students are waiting anxiously for news from their new friend in a foreign country.
