In mid-January, Groveport Elementary School Student Council held a “Cram the Cruiser” food donation drive to collect food donations from the community for the Greater Groveport Food Pantry. Students gathered together the food donations and stuffed them into a Groveport Police cruiser. Pictured here are students Eli Williams (left) and Oscar Viton (right) as they work together to carry a heavy bag of donated food to the staging area at the school’s front door. The students collected 1,464 food items to be donated to the food pantry. Groveport Elementary principal April Bray offered special thanks to city of Groveport officials and employees, the Groveport Police, and Jessica Wyke of the city of Groveport for their help and support of the food drive. The Greater Groveport Food Pantry, located at 595 Cherry St. in Groveport, is open from 4-7 p.m. on Thursdays. For information call (614) 836-7652.
