Eight-year-old Quinlan Pio (pink car #2) has her eye on a victory as the laps wind down in her 30-lap Junior Honda Feature. Pio claimed her win as a weekend of Quarter Midget Racing was finishing up Sept. 20 at the Fortress Obetz Buckeye Quarter Midget track. This race was made up of more than 70 five- to nine-year-old area racers. Quinlan’s father, Mike Pio said her participation in Quarter Midget Racing is part of a family effort that includes her 10-year-old brother, Gunnar. Prior t the Fortress Obetz race, the Pio family spent two daysracing in Illinois and made the race in Obetz a stop on the way back to their home in Knuckletown, Pa. Gunnar competed in three of the 13 classes, while Quinlan competed in two, both taking home victories.
