The South Charleston Heritage Commission is hosting its annual Heritage Days Festival Sept. 28-29. Madison Township Emergency Medical Services is sponsoring fireworks at 140 S. Church St. the night before, Sept. 27, following Southeastern High School’s homecoming football game.
Heritage Days will take place at and around the historic train depot and log house at 147 W. Mound St. A silent auction, children’s activities, vendors, and food trucks are planned for both days. The schedule is as follows:
Friday, Sept. 27
Fireworks following football game
Saturday, Sept. 28
10 a.m.–Parade
Live music line-up (with standup comedy between acts):
11:30 a.m.–Dave & Taffy Waugh
1 p.m.–Steve Ball
2:30 p.m.–Ty Cooper
4 p.m.–American Landscape
6 p.m.–The Foundation
8 p.m.–Wyatt McCubbin
Sunday, Sept. 29
10:30 a.m.–Community church service
Noon–Pizza eating contest
Noon–Bingo
1 p.m.–Kiddie tractor pull
4 p.m.–Festival closes
Proceeds from the Heritage Days Festival go toward the upkeep of South Charleston’s historic train depot, log house and opera house. This year, the log house got a new roof.
