A Westside dental office is again offering a unique Valentine present for the needy of the community – a day of free dental care.
Gentle Family Dental Care doctors James Aust and Shawn Shaver as well as their entire dental staff, will offer free dental treatment to the community on a first-come, first-serve basis on Wednesday Feb. 13.
"We have been blessed with a successful dental practice," says Dr. Aust, "and this is a way we can give back and show appreciation to the community."
This will be the fourth year that Dr. Aust and Dr. Shaver will hold this event at their office at 1444 W. Mound St.
In order to make the day possible, the entire Gentle Family Dental staff has volunteered to work the day without pay.
"My staff is a group of extremely caring, giving and talented individuals. I am very proud of them for volunteering, organizing and putting this benefit together," Aust stated.
No appointments will be made. Patients will be given an estimated time for their treatment on a first come, first serve basis beginning at 7 a.m. As much treatment will be accomplished as time allows.
Services available will include cleanings, x-rays, diagnosis, fillings, extractions, denture adjustments and pain control.
"This will not be comprehensive care," Aust added, "rather, we will attempt to satisfy patient’s immediate needs in the time we have available."
"It’s sad to hear so much negativity in the news regarding the economy and people losing their houses, jobs, etc. Many people truly are struggling and dentistry is not high on their priority list. Hopefully we can help some of these people," he said.
According to Aust, anyone who needs dental care is welcome to participate but they are particularity targeting those truly in need.
He also would like to especially thank all Gentle Family Dental Care patients for their support over the years, realizing they are the reason a day like this is possible.
