On July 14, the local community came out to the Highland Youth Garden on the westside of Columbus for food and fun as it hosted its annual Midsummer Festival. In addition to making creative meals from its produce garden, attendees were also able to learn about beekeeping from representatives with The Bee Collective, make floral crowns through The Flower Initiative, and generally celebrate the hard work that teens, volunteers and employees put into maintaining the garden on South Highland Avenue. Here, Grove City siblings Aniber Talamantes, Jocelyn Chavarria, Julianne Chavarria (pictured in the back row from left to right) and Jonathan and Sebastian Chavarria (pictured in the front row from left to right) show off their floral crowns.
