Showcasing student talent

Members of the Franklin Heights High School band kicked off the South-Western City Schools District Band Showcase with a salute to the golden anniversary of the Apollo moon landing. The showcase was held on Oct. 15 at Central Crossing High School. All four high schools were represented.

The Grove City High School marching band brought ramps and stages and even a piano to put on a great performance with a collection of Rhapsody-themed songs in this years performance titled “Rhapsody.” The band performed at the Oct. 15 South-Western City Schools District Band Showcase, held at Central Crossing High School. A large crowd was on hand to watch all four high school bands perform. Grove City’s marching band is the largest with 250 members.
The Central Crossing marching band created a ‘Grid for their performance of the same name, as they played host to this year’s South-Western City Schools Band Showcase. With 170 members, they were able to fill the field with a lot of action as they made their way through the Grid.
