Shots fired near College and Cherry streets intersection

According to a Groveport Police report, on Oct. 19 around 8:30 p.m., a tow truck driver and a College Street resident allegedly got into an argument near the intersection of College and Cherry streets. The argument resulted in the tow truck driver allegedly shooting about six rounds at the resident and the resident’s home.

Groveport Police Lt. Bary Murphy said the tow truck driver was later identified and interviewed.

“He has been cooperating with investigators,” said Murphy. “At this point he is an uncharged suspect, so his name is not public record. We expect the case to be presented to the Franklin County Grand Jury for indictment soon. There were no injuries reported, however the house was struck (by shots) four times.”

The police report notes that a charge of felonious assault with a weapon could possibly be applied to the incident.

Murphy said the investigation is ongoing.
