Shooting on Thanksgiving Day in Madison Township

According to the Madison Township Police, on Nov. 28, around 7:03 p.m., officers from the Madison Township Police Department along with officers from the Groveport and Obetz police departments, as well as deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, responded to the report of a shooting at 4666 Harbor Boulevard.

Madison Township Police Chief Gary York said that, upon arrival, Madison Township officers contacted the victim, Antwoin Ramsey, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the lower leg. Madison Township Officer Kranz applied a tourniquet and direct pressure to the victim’s leg until medics arrived, thus reducing the amount of blood loss. The victim was later transported to Mount Carmel East by Madison Township Medic 183.

The suspect, Phillip Ferrell III, was arrested and charged with one count of felonious assault and transported to the Franklin County Jail. The case will be presented to the grand jury at a later date.
