The first Prairie Township Community Center Thanksgiving Pie Bake-Off was held on Nov. 11. Contestants submitted pies in two categories – fruit pies and non-fruit pies. Here, 7-year-old Charlie Patrick poses in front of her old-fashioned southern pecan pie that won her top honors in the non-fruit category. The winner of the fruit category was Maria Wolfe.

The contestants, as well as staff and visitors to the event, were given the task of tasting and judging the pies entered in the event.
