State Senator Stephanie Kunze (R-Dublin) honored state swimming champion Eli Stoll in the Ohio Senate on April 26.
A senior at Jonathan Alder High School, Stoll took first place in the 100-yard backstroke at the 2023 OHSAA Div. II State Swimming Championship in February. It was a successful title defense, as Stoll was state champion in the same event last year. This year, he also took second place at state in the 200-yard individual medley.
“Eli has such a bright future. I am looking forward to seeing what else he will accomplish,” Kunze said. “This is a remarkable achievement, and I have no doubt he will continue to excel in athletics.”
Stoll made school history last year as Jonathan Alder’s first swimmer to win a state championship. He is a four-year letter winner, a 2022 Junior National qualifier in the 100 backstroke, and a 2021 Junior National finalist in the 200 backstroke.
Stoll also competed in the Olympic Trials in 2021 and is committed to swim at The Ohio State University.
