Santa visits, carriage rides, and so many lights!

West Jefferson hosted Christmas in the Park Dec. 8-9. Wonderful weather greeted a large crowd on Friday night while rain dampened the grounds but not the spirit of Christmas on Saturday. Garrette Park glowed and hummed thanks to a display of hundreds of thousands of lights, carriage and train rides, warm food and beverages, entertainment, visits with Santa, and good cheer. On Saturday, a lighted parade traveled down Main Street.

The entrance to Garrette Park welcomes visitors to Christmas in the Park. Lights will be on nightly from 5 to 10 p.m. through Jan. 1.
West Jefferson High School’s jazz band entertains the crowd at Christmas in the Park on Dec. 8.

Kiddos climbed aboard a trackless train for a ride around the grounds.

Dakota Belcher, 3, came from London to enjoy West Jefferson’s Christmas in the Park.
For the lighted parade, the West Jefferson Post Office entered a mail truck driven by The Grinch who handed out books to children along the special route.
Santa arrives in his Santa’s Workshop float complete with a working Ferris wheel following him.
The West Jefferson Ox Roast queens and their court ride their float in the lighted parade on Saturday night.
