Santa and Mrs. Santa Claus are shown here during one of their past visits to the Groveport Log House.

The city of Groveport will not hold its annual Christmas event, “A Heritage Holiday,” this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but Santa Claus will still make an appearance in town.

“With the ongoing safety protocols related to COVID-19, the annual A Heritage Holiday will not be held this year,” said Groveport City Administrator B.J. King. “We look forward to having this, and all community events, in 2021. Public events are important to communities. The nature, and purpose, of public events is to bring people together to celebrate an event or a holiday, and so on. Unfortunately, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic makes it very difficult to hold the traditional public events in 2020. We are excited to offer the public events in 2021.”

King did say the city will embrace the holiday spirit by installing the city’s Christmas lights around town as usual.
