Running Scared 5K

The Canal Winchester Running Scared 5K, presented by Nationwide Children’s Hospital, completed its sixth year on Oct. 29, . The event offered a 5K run and a one-miler. Runners were encouraged to wear Halloween costumes. This year the race took place at the Canal Winchester High School with a route through Canal Winchester. Pictured here is Harper Goodrich, 8, and her grandmother Debbie Marshall-Guzman, who completed the Running Scared 5K in just over 50 minutes. This was Goodrich’s second time racing.
Even dinosaurs participated in this year’s Running Scared 5K.

In conjunction with the Canal Winchester Running Scared event, the Canal Winchester Chamber of Commerce teamed with the Diley Ridge Medical Center and offered a health fair. Local companies like Eyeglass Parties offered free eye exams.
The Inn at Winchester Trail offered blood sugar checks at the Community Health Fair which ran during the Running Scared 5K event. This is the first year the health fair has been offered during the event.
