Roughriders are Central District champions

It took an extra inning, but they did it.

West Jefferson High School’s boys’ varsity baseball team played Northridge for the Central District Div. III title on May 23 at Dublin Coffman High School.

The teams were tied 2-2 at the end of regulation play. Northridge scored in the top of the eighth inning to go up 3-2, but the Roughriders answered with two runs in the bottom of the eighth to win the title 4-3.

West Jefferson advances to regional play on May 30 against West Lafayette Ridgewood at Mount Vernon. The game starts at 5 p.m.

The West Jefferson Roughriders, Division III Central District champions, hold their trophy and their medals.
The team hoists their trophy in celebration.
