Roughriders advance to next playoff round

West Jefferson defeated Anna 36-35 on Oct. 17 at home in Div. VI regional play. The Roughriders came from behind to win the game with an 18-yard field goal by Mason Cordetti with 39 seconds remaining in the game. Cordetti also added field goals of 23 yards and 22 yards. With the victory, West Jefferson advances to host Covington in the next round on Oct. 24.

Receiver Tyler Oberle heads for the end zone with an 80-yard reception on the second play of West Jefferson’s matchup with Anna on Oct. 17. Oberle also broke three school records with 238 yards in a game, 1,083 yards in a season, and 2,100 yards in his high school career.
Running back Hayden Salyer makes a cut against the Anna defense. Salyer rushed for 81 yards on 21 attempts and scored one touchdown.
