Kyelen Leonard, a 12-year-old autistic child, received a trike bike on June 27 from the Rotary Club of the Canal Winchester and Groveport areas at the Shade on the Canal Restaurant in downtown Canal Winchester. Pictured here, Leonard sits on his new bike while Rotary Club member and Madison Township trustee John Kershner makes some final adjustments on the handlebars. Representatives from the Madison Township Police Department also attended the presentation to relay bicycle safety tips to Leonard and his family. “I saw on Facebook where a mother was trying to find a trike for her autistic son in the Blacklick Estates community and she had a limited budget,” Kershner said. “This was an opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life and, with the support of the club, I was able to procure a nice vintage trike that had just been tuned up and had all new tires and also get a commitment from Bikes for All to help this young man explore his ability to learn to ride a regular bike.”
