The Madison County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Sovereign Village, a new senior independent living community located at 305 Patriot Circle, London.

The community is designed for seniors 62 years old and older and offers three types of apartments for rent: villas, rowhouses, and clubhouse apartments. The campus is home to a total of 127 apartments.

The primary focus of Sovereign Village is to promote vitality, activities, and social engagement among seniors. The campus and its services are designed to keep older adults out of nursing homes and assisted living facilities, said owner Paul Gross, a London resident.

All Sovereign Village residents have access to an array of amenities, including a pool, shuffle board, bocce ball, a greenhouse, a woodworking shop, a bark park, putting greens, indoor pickleball, a golf simulator, a fitness facility, and a billiards room.

Residents can add on options such as laundry services and meal plans. In-home health care is available for those who need it, and a doctor’s office is on premises. All of the apartment options come with 36-inch wide doorways and no stairs.

The combination of services, amenities, and apartment styles have been a magnet for people not only in Madison County but also far beyond, Gross said.

“People all around the country are moving to London, Ohio, to retire because there aren’t amenities like this anywhere else,” he said. “We built this based on really studying this demographic and saying, ‘How can we make them as comfortable as possible.’”

Sovereign Village can be found online at www.livingthebestlife.com. The phone number is (740) 564-6436.
