Reynoldsburg Councilwoman Newman to resign seat

As of Dec. 31, Antoinette Newman will resign her Reynoldsburg City Council seat.

Newman underwent a "serious surgery" in October and will not fully recover for at least another year.

"I have a great deal of trouble walking and breathing at the same time," Newman said. Attending council meetings is "something I better not even try."

Anyone interested in becoming a Reynoldsburg city council member should send a resume or letter of interest to council clerk Nancy Frazier. To be eligible, applicants must be registered voters living in Reynoldsburg, Frazier said.

Planning and Zoning Committee member Chris Long said he planned to apply.

"My wife and I are very, very involved in community organizations," Long said. "It’s a natural progression for me to do business for the citizens."

Frazier may be contacted via e-mail at nfrazier@ci.reynoldsburg.oh.us or at the Municipal Building at 7232 E. Main St.

The next council committee meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 6.
