Reunion celebrates 50 years of Ox Roast queens

Nancy Gantner, the 2023 West Jefferson Ox Roast queen, organized a queens reunion celebrating 50 years of Ox Roast queens. The reunion was held on April 6 at the West Jefferson Community Center. The group enjoyed a meal and shared memories. The Ox Roast started in 1951.

The queens contest was held 1953-1978, 1999-2019, and 2021 to date. Nancy Gantner is the festival’s 50th queen.
