Raising funds to send veterans to D.C.

Vitas Healthcare donated $5,000 to “Madison County Veterans to DC” to help fund a bus trip to transport Madison County veterans to and from Washington D.C., where they will visit the various war memorials.

The check presentation was made Sept. 27 at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7005 in West Jefferson. Also making donations to the trip that day were American Legion Post 201 ($600) and 40 et 8 ($400).

The trip is scheduled for Sept. 11-13, 2020. Fundraising is taking place to ensure that the trip is free to participating veterans.
