A search warrant executed on the morning of Feb. 23 led to three arrests at a London residence under investigation for drug trafficking activity.
The Madison County Major Crimes Task Force obtained the warrant for 151 S. Oak St. At 8:45 a.m., the London Police Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team executed the warrant.
“There was some thought that weapons might be involved. That’s why the Franklin County SWAT Team was called in to help execute the warrant,” said London Police Chief Glenn Nicol.
No weapons were found at the residence, he said, but small amounts of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine were found, along with cash and drug paraphernalia.
Several individuals were found in the residence, identified and released.
The others who were arrested included Emily Patton (Lamb), 35, who was charged with one count of possession of drugs.
Andrew J. Shaw, 40, was charged with a misdemeanor count of obstructing official business after becoming combative with SWAT deputies during the raid. He was jailed for the offense.
Brennan Bell, 30, was jailed because he was out on bond for a previous charge in Madison County and the court revoked his bond.
Nicol said the Major Crimes Task Force had been on the case for a few weeks leading up to the raid. He noted that the investigation is ongoing.
Residents are encouraged to report suspected drug trafficking to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, (740) 852-1616, or the London Police Department, (740) 852-1414.
