The London Rotary Club is pleased to honor senior Rachel Weis as Madison-Plains High School’s September Student of the Month.
Students of the month are selected by school administrators based on their academic and extracurricular achievement and positive character.
Rachel has a 4.133 grade point average. Her favorite course is concert band. She has been a four-year member of the Madison-Plains Ohio Music Education Association superior-rated concert band.
Rachel also has been a four-year member of the varsity girls’ golf team, this year earning first-team Ohio Heritage Conference honors, and she has been a member of the indoor track team. Additionally, Rachel is a member of the National Honor Society.
When asked to name a school staff member who inspires her, Rachel named science teacher Molly Niese.
“I love her connection with nature, her commitment to work, and she is always bubbly and fun,” Rachel said.
About Rachel, Niese said, “It has been a sincere treat getting to know Rachel for the past four years. We have laughed, we have learned, and we have shared several nature photos over the years. With her wit, intelligence and creative genius, she inspires me now, and she will continue to inspire me long after she leaves the halls of Madison-Plains.”
After graduation, Rachel plans to major in architecture at Kent State University. She is the daughter of Angie and Troy Weis.
The London Rotary Club has a proud history dating back to 1929. It is a member of Rotary International, a volunteer organization of 1.2 million business and professional leaders united worldwide to provide humanitarian service and help build good will and peace.
