The Grove City High School Drama Club Boosters weaved a bit of magic for the children in the community when they hosted their 10th annual Character Tea on April 29. For nearly two hours, the drama club students transformed into legendary princes, princesses, villains, and other beloved characters and interacted with bedazzled boys and girls through fun activities and games, and of course, the occasional dance party. According to theater director Stefanie McConnell, the Character Tea not only serves as the theater department’s biggest fundraising event of the year but it is also something that everyone in the community looks forward to. “They are all just mingling together and having a ball – no pun intended,” she quipped. Pictured here having a ball as she basks in the attention of Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen (a.k.a. Maci Kahiga and Mekhi Adika) is Serenity Anderson, 4. The Grove City resident says she loves all Disney movies – especially “Encanto.” She wanted to pay homage to her favorite character Mirabel by dressing accordingly for the Character Tea event.
