The 2008 American Honey Princess Rachel Bryson visited Glendening Elementary and Groveport Middle School South on Sept. 3. She spoke to the students about honey bees, what the bees’ jobs were in the hive, and shared facts such as that a bee colony needs 70 pounds of honey to survive the winter. She also told the students that bears don’t eat honey, they are after the bee larva. Bryson is shown here talking to Vicki Keck’s sixth grade science class at Middle School South. Bryson also appeared at the Lithopolis Honeyfest on Sept. 6. |
