Plenty of laughter and fellowship at Senior Citizens Party

The 58th Annual Senior Citizens Christmas Party, hosted by the West Jefferson Community Association, was held Dec. 8 at West Jefferson High School. More than 180 senior citizens were treated to dinner. The West Jefferson High School Jazz Band performed, and Santa handed out door prizes and goody bags to all attendees.

A new addition to West Jefferson’s Senior Citizens Christmas party this year was the naming of a queen and king. The inaugural honorees were Betty Rankin and Steven Dragoo. They were chosen by drawing names out of the list of this year’s attendees.
