Plain City Library has put together the following schedule of events for its Summer Reading Program. By registering for the summer reading program, children, teens and adults can earn prizes for reading, including the grand prize–a Kindle Fire tablet. The library is located at 305 W. The Spoon Man. At 1 p.m. June 11, the Spoon Man, made famous on “America’s Got Talent,” will present an interactive program with outrageous impressions, an audience sing-a-long competition, and lots of spoon playing. Due to popularity, this program will require a wristband for admission.
Virtual Reality Field Trips. Tuesday, June 12 from 6:30-8:00PM and Saturday, June 16 from 10:30AM-1:00PM. Bring your family on a virtual field trip to the Grand Canyon, Mount Everest, the solar system, and other exciting destinations. Sessions are set for 6:30-8 p.m. June 12 and 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. June 16. Must have adult present.
Musical Movies. Watch “Mary Poppins” (G) at 2 p.m. June 14, “Mamma Mia!” (PG-13) at 6:30 p.m. June 19, and “Grease” (PG) at 6:30 p.m. June 26 on the library’s large screen. Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the movie. Popcorn and candy provided.
Rockin’ Magic Show. At 2 p.m. June 19, enjoy a rockin’ and rollin’ show featuring magic about reading, music, books and libraries. Due to popularity, this program will require a wristband for admission.
Hip Hop with Evie and Mal. At 2 p.m. June 20, join your favorite characters from “Descendants” to learn a few hip hop moves. Due to popularity, this program will require a wristband for admission.
