Pictured here is the Methodist Episcopal Church, located at 122 W. Church St. in Pickerington, as it looked in the early 20th century. According to Pickerington historian Gary Taylor, the church was built in 1883 and was used until 1951 when it was torn down and replaced with the church that still occupies the site. That church is now home to Grace Brethren Church. Taylor said prior to the old church being built, Methodists in the 19th century held services and meetings in Pickerington area homes. He said the old church’s interior was wide open and spacious, typical of churches of its era. |
