Berry wins tourney
Jonathan Alder senior Bo Berry didn’t waste a lot of time on the mat at the Division II sectional tournament. On the way to the 152-pound weight class championship, he pinned Daniel Gelpi of Bishop Watterson in 53 seconds and Travers Clark of Whitehall High School in 28 seconds. In this photo, Berry is on his way to a 15-0 tech-fall against Dominic Terantelli of New Albany. Berry will head to the Division II district tournament Feb. 22-23 in Steubenville with a record of 22-10. He will be joined by fellow Pioneers: junior Andy Farand, fourth place, 125 pounds; sophomore Steven Picklesimon, third, 130 pounds; freshman Bobby Blankenship, second, 189 pounds; junior Jared Kuhlwein, third, 275 pounds, and freshman Kyle Peterman, fourth, 140 pounds. |

Peterman pins opponent

Silvers takes fourth place
London sophomore Shane Silvers will advance to the Division II district wrestling tournament via his fourth-place finish in the Feb. 16 sectional held in front of a home crowd at London High School. Silvers is shown here on his way to a 10-3 win over Hamilton Township’s Mike Smith. Others from London who qualified for the Feb. 22-23 districts in Steubenville are 119-pound sophomore James Johnson who finished fourth, 160-pound junior Austin Bauer who also finished fourth, and 112-pound sophomore Ronnie Colvin who was the runner-up. |
