The high school track teams of the South-Western City School District met at Central Crossing High School April 18 to find out who was the "Best of the Southwest." Shown here the boys are lined up for the 100 meter dash to crown the quickest sprinters, which turned out to be  Dominique Watson, a senior at Franklin Heights, with a time of 11:11. At the end of the day, the top spot in both boys and girls events was claimed by Central Crossing. Grove City finished second, Franklin Heights placed third and Westland came in last place.

Grove City senior Andrew Sigrist leads the field of 300 meter hurdlers on his way to an event win with a time of 40:82 at the Best of the Soutwest track meet. Sigrist also took the runner-up spot to team mate Kory Martin in the 100 meter hurdles.

Courtney Gholson (right, bottom) leads the way to a Franklin Heights victory in the girls 300-meter hurdles. Gholson also took the top spot in the girls high jump.
