Here, 12-year-old Hayes Intermediate students Madison Plumly (left) and Lindsey Baker huddle together while learning about tornado safety from Jackson Township fire officials. The township brought their smoke house along to teach kids about fire safety. The smoke house also has a tornado simulator. About 600 children have been through the smoke house in the past few weeks.
