People lined the streets of uptown Plain City this morning to catch the village’s Independence Day parade and plenty of candy thrown from trucks, cars, and floats.

The Starlight Twirlers perform.
Chosen by popular vote to be the parade grand marshal, Kelly Hicks is the former principal of Plain City Elementary and a longtime community volunteer.
Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts from Troop 90 take part in the parade.
A fish out of water leads the Plain City Sharks swim team on parade day.
Plain City American Legion Post 248 march through town.
JA Cheer went all out with the red-white-and-blue. They were named “Best Float” for their efforts.
The inflated funny guy aboard the Chapman Ford truck gets ready to limbo under the overhead wires.
The folks from Lee’s Sports & Spirits and Buckeye Barbecue & Pizza laugh it up as they motor by with a Plain City clock tower replica up front.
