| The Livingston House Society, in conjunction with the Reynoldsburg Parks and Recreation Department, held its second Pioneer Day from noon to 4 p.m. June 21 at the Livingston House, 1792 Graham Road. The day’s events included churning butter, making rag dolls, washing laundry, feeding animals and dress-up clothes. There was a good turnout at the event, which was designed to reach out to the younger people in the community. Participants also got to try their hand at writing with a quill pen and playing marbles, as well as using stilts and hoops. (Above) It didn’t take volunteer Jordan Perkins long to figure out how to use an old-fashioned wooden hoop toy. Perkins, a student at Baldwin Road Junior High School in Reynoldsburg, skillfully rolled it all around the Livingston House grounds. (Below) Reynoldsburg resident Van Parks was in charge of cooking for Pioneer Day. He stirred meat for stew while homemade apple butter simmered on the side.
